Umbrella Coverage
Umbrella Coverage Information
A lawsuit could potentially cause you to lose your most valued possessions, such as your home and your automobiles. Your Homeowner or Automobile policy alone may not provide adequate liability coverage. The Personal Umbrella policy provides additional personal liability coverage above what your Homeowner or Automobile policy provides.
The Personal Umbrella Policy covers:
. Bodily injury or property damage that you or a resident family member is legally liable for
. Personal injury that you or a resident family member is legally liable for (i.e. libel, slander)
. Defense costs associated with defending a suit brought against you or a resident family member
. Expenses associated with defending a suit
Minimum underlying requirements
Automobile Liability $500,000/$500,000 BI
Homeowners Personal Liability $300,000 each occurrence
Non-licensed Recreational vehicles $300,000 each occurrence
Watercraft Liability $300,000 each occurrence
Exclusions:
Jet skis exceeding 125 horsepower
Risks with unfenced pools or pools with diving board or slide
Trampolines
Risks with exotic pets and some breeds of dogs
(i.e. guard dogs such as pit bulls, rotweillers, German Shepherds, Akitas, Dobermans, and including mixed breeds of these dogs).
These are just a few of some of the exclusions. If you are interested in receiving a quote for an Umbrella policy, you should contact our office and speak to one of our agents. We can discuss this further with you. Your homeowners policy, automobile policy and any other (watercraft) policies must be all insured at our agency for this coverage.
